Oil on canvas; 30 by 25 inches; set within a Regency Period giltwood frame

Provenance: Anne, 6th Countess of Carnarvon (d.1977), most probably purchased from Ehrich Galleries, New York; sold at Christie's, lot 70 (50 guineas to Leggatt, fine art dealers) in London on 22nd May 1925; Anne, Lady Hollenden (d. 2005); and subsequently a private collection, England

The present portrait is identical to another owned by the National Trust, in the Ascott Collection, Buckinghamshire, England who note that another version was exhibited with the Ehrich Galleries, New York in 1920, described as Miss Kelly and by Archer Shee.
