18th Century George II Painted Tripod Table

The circular tilt-top very finely painted with a still life of an urn, fruit and a parrot against a scenic landscape, raised on a gun-barrel turned central support with tripod base. A very rare survival of Anglo-Dutch decorated furniture from the mid-18th century.

The reverse with a label stating ‘Private property of Colonel Stewart Wilson’ Colonel Ralph Stewart-Wilson was a Scottish landowner and soldier.
