A late eighteenth century Louis XVI Period mahogany tric trac games table, the removable top lined with baize and tooled leather for writing and cards lifting to reveal an inlaid ebony veneered well for backgammon, the panelled sides each with drawers for counters, all raised on turned tapering fluted legs with brass sabots.

Stamped by the maker, Georges Kintz.

George Kintz, became Maitre on 18th December 1776 and established his business in the rue de Fauboutg-Saint-Antoine. A circular table by Kintz exists within the Rothschild collection at The Villa Ephrussi, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France.
