A fine 18th century hand-coloured engraving depicting the Monument to The Great Fire of London.

Commemorating The Great Fire of London in 1666, The Monument, built be Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Hooke stands at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill. Constructed between 1671 and 1677, it stands 202 feet (62 metres) tall and takes the form of a Doric Column. Its gallery with gilded pinnacle can be reached by scaling 311 steps.
