18th Century Louis XVI Period Commode Stamped by Etienne Avril

A fine late eighteenth century Louis XVI Period parquetry mahogany, ebony and bois satine inlaid commode, the marble top above three drawers with ormolu handles and lock escutcheons, all raised on square tapering legs with brass sabots.

Stamped Étienne Avril (1748-1791). Avril resided on the rue de Charenton in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine of Paris. He became a maître-ébéniste in 1774.
