An 18th Century Pair of Mahogany Bedside Cabinets

A pair of 18th century George III Period mahogany bedside commodes of rich colour and figuring, the shaped tray tops having pierced galleries over lift-up cupboard doors above a leather lined recessed lower section, all raised upon square chamfered legs.

Pairs of bedside cupboards, or ‘night tables’, as they were generally known in the 18th century, are today extremely rare.
