A Rare 19th Century Burr or Root-work Grotto Mirror

A rare and unusual nineteenth century burr or root work grotto mirror, the shaped plate contained within a deep, naturally formed wooden burr. The surface has acquired a wonderful depth of colour and patination both to the front and the back.
