One of three pairs of Louis XVI painted armchairs, the moulded frames carved with ribbon-tied flowers and leaves. Upholstered in close-nailed tan leather. Note: Price is per pair, three pairs available. Attributed to Pillot of Nimes, France.
Pierre Pillot (Paris 1758-Nîmes 1822) was a master menuisier, a student of Mathieu Bauve, he was active in Nimes between 1780 and 1820.
He is known for the production of mainly seats but also consoles and beds the Neoclassical style.
