An 18th Century George II Period Mahogany Side Table

£2,900

SOLD

A fine early 18th century George II Period mahogany or red walnut side table, the overhanging top above a single drawer with brass fretwork handle, set upon an apron and all raised upon four slender cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.

This elegant piece has a rich, warm colour. Its simplicity of form is typical of early Georgian furniture and the only surface ornament is the single brass handle and backplate. The slender cabriole legs with pad feet date this piece to the 1730s. Early Georgian pieces such as this integrate well with contemporary and traditional interiors.
