30 3/4 inches (78.10 cm)The design of the base almost certainly by Johann Michael Hoppenhaupt and of unusually small proportions. The top, of serpentine form centred by an early 17th century Japanese Namban lacquer panel made for the Portuguese market, within an 18th century border inlaid with trailing flowers in mother-of-pearl and exotic woods, raised on a base formed of elaborate asymmetrical scrollwork and shells, typical of the work of Hoppenhaupt.
