The Tuscan order is the simplest and most solid of all the classical architectural styles. It is streamlined, being an unadorned adaptation of the traditional Greek and Roman Doric order. It features a plain, smooth column shaft and a basic undecorated capital.

This pair of wooden columns has been faithfully painted in imitation of marble using a feather to adorn the surfaces with realistic veining. Now mounted as lamps, they will work as a pair, either side of a bed or upon pairs of console or end tables, to maintain symmetry within a room setting.
