A late 19th century Imari vase of large scale and decorated throughout in polychrome glazes, the central area depicting dragons dancing amid flower heads.

By the middle of the 19th century, the Japanese once again began exporting Imari porcelain to the West, the producers reviving many old Imari patterns. As in this example, the Fukagawa factory produced beautiful vases especially known for their vertical banded decoration in red and blue glazes.
