A fine pair of early 19th century Canton Enamel vases, each decorated with figurative polychrome panels upon a rich blue ground.

These Canton enamel vases are richly decorated in the famille rose palette on a rich blue ground. They were produced for the European and American market between the 18th and the 20th centuries. To decorate the pair, their metal surface was treated with a thin, lightweight and opaque layer of white to which the rich enamels were added. Since the Kangxi Period, Canton has been the centre for such productions and remains well respected to this day.

Qing Dynasty – Daoguang Period (1821-1850)
