A rare pair of seventeenth century watercolour and gouache hawk paintings.

Housed in later gilded bamboo moulded frames

Kano Naonobu (1607–1650) was an early Edo Period painter of the influential Kano school, an important and hereditary line of artists that produced works for major patrons. He was known for his powerful brushstrokes and much of his work featured hawks and other birds.
