This Empire Period cabinet enjoys a simplicity of form. The only decoration employed exists in the finely figured mahogany veneers and the brass lock escutcheons, as was the fashion of the time. It has an architectural severity associated with the first decade of the 19th century - the hallmark of the Empire Style.
