Napoleon’s promotion of his regime infiltrated various areas, even those outside his socio-political agenda. At this, he visited artist workshops, cabinet makers and porcelain factories in order to stimulate the incorporation of French brilliance in their works. To demonstrate the grandeur of Napoleon’s nation, an association with Classical Antiquity and the stoicism adopted by the ancient Greeks and Romans seemed only fitting for incorporation in interior design.

This pair of lamps (although made a century after napoleon’s apogee) reflect back upon this remarkable period in history and have been constructed using traditional techniques of ormolu work.
