A Pair of Villandry Lamp Bases

£695

SOLD

A pair of carved, painted finial lamp bases taking the form of sprouting pomegranates set upon scrolling acanthus leaves.

This lamp base takes its name from the Renaissance Château de Villandry which is located in the centre of the Loire region. Built on the banks of the Loire river it is famous for its terraced gardens which combine aesthetics, diversity and harmony.

The foliate carving on these lamp bases suggests the majesty of les jardins de Villandry.
