A large late 17th century Imari porcelain charger, decorated with a still life of a vase with exotic flowers set upon a chequered surface.

This Imari charger is not only impressive in scale, but also in decoration. Its floral still life dominates the surface, while unusually being set upon a Western style chequerboard surface.
