A late eighteenth century plaster relief depicting an Irish Celtic harp in the traditional form with figurative column, set upon a rich green ground within a hand-gilded foliate frame.
This rare plaster relief was discovered as a fragmentary remnant, most probably once forming part of the decorative scheme within the music salon of a grand Georgian house. The harp remains to this day a national symbol of Ireland.
