A Pair of Cheverny Scrolling Iron Wall Appliques

£695

SOLD

A pair of two-arm wall appliqués, the scrolling iron backs with flower head paterae and terminating in to candle arms.

These wall appliqués take their name from the Château de Cheverny. The castle houses one of the grandest stair cases in the region, decorated with ornate coats of arms.

It was at one time home to Diane de Poitiers, mistress to King Henri II.
