A Fine 17th Century Imari Vase

£3,250

SOLD

A rare 17th century Imari vase, the body finely decorated with three panels showing an eagle, cranes and mythical beasts.

(The base with star crack.)

This is a particularly fine example of Japanese Imari; the decoration is superb throughout. This vase was made at the end of the 17th century just prior to the closure of ports to foreign trade.
