A late seventeenth century faceted Imari vase and cover of great scale, the jar and lid decorated throughout with flowers and foliage in red, green, blue and gilded glazes upon a white ground.
This Imari vase is of unusually large scale. It would have been made for the Dutch market and most probably formed part of a garniture of large vases and would have been an important focal point in a very grand room.
