A pair of mid-20th century red japanned two tier tables, each shelf decorated with red lacquer with gilded highlights depicting stylised foliage and butterflies, and supported by brass frames and edges, all raised on castors.

These tables were made by Mallett of New Bond Street, Mayfair, London, W1. Their decorative appearance and versatile form has rendered them popular with decorators for many decades. They provide useful surfaces for lamps, or as end tables for books and glass ware.
