A fine 19th century pair of porcelain garden seats, of square form, having pierced tops and sides, and decorated with blue and white glazes of stylised foliage.
Qing Dynasty, Tongzhi Period (1862 – 1874)
These porcelain seats were made in the style of traditional wooden barrel stools and the raised decoration is in imitation of the brass nails which held down covering fabrics. They are rare being of square form.
