This picture is a fine of example of George Armfield’s work. An artist, specialising in sporting dogs, his paintings show various breeds at work. In this example, three terriers are shown at a burrow. Armfield not only captured the appearance of various breeds, but also understood the nature of these animals. Their characters and determination are depicted with remarkable realism.
